Amazon Q Developer is AWS's software-development assistant, available in IDE plugins, the CLI and the AWS Console, with two published tiers. The Free Tier is perpetual with monthly limits: 50 agentic requests per month covering Q&A chat and agentic coding, access to the latest Claude models, and 1,000 lines of code per month for Java upgrades. The Pro Tier is $19 per user per month and raises the limits, adds 4,000 lines of code per user per month pooled at the AWS payer-account level for Java transformation, adds IAM Identity Center administration and IP indemnity, and bills excess transformation usage at $0.003 per line of code submitted.

No USD credit is granted: the official pricing page publishes a perpetual Free Tier as allowances (50 agentic requests per month and 1,000 lines of code per month for Java upgrades) alongside the $19 per user per month Pro tier and $0.003 per line overage (aws.amazon.com/q/developer/pricing, checked 2026-09-16).
